JustGhana aims to boost education in STEM and creative and cultural industries for children and young people in Ghana. We seek opportunities to collaborate with Ghana’s communities sharing ideas with international artists, architects and engineers, with particular reference to climate emergency in Africa.
Just Ghana is a group of like-minded professionals led by Elsie Owusu (OBE, RIBA) focused on identifying opportunities and advocating for social and environmental advancement in Ghana through social and infrastructural works.
Our Mission
Empowering communities to be self-reliant and environmentally sensitive through the development of creative skills in the younger generation to lead their own communities. Jamestown is one of our sites of interest as it possesses great urban and economic potential as well as a major landmark in the Ghanaian contemporary art map. The goal is to work together with the community on vital sustainable measures to revive Jamestown through a wholistic urban regeneration approach. A first step to achieving the ultimate goal is actively engaging with children as ambassadors of their own communities through the medium of arts, crafts, and design.
Our partners include Ghana’s Traditional Councils and communities, private companies, schools, colleges and the Ghana and UK governments.
